About Pocket Chocolate

Pocket Chocolate is a dynamic 7-piece funk, blues, and soul collective hailing from the vibrant city of New Orleans. with a combination of original songwriting and samples from musical influences across genres. They aim to captivate audiences with their vibrant, modern take on the styles of music that founded New Orleans’ musical culture.

Since 2021, the band has played all throughout the Gulf coast, especially in their home state of Louisiana. In September of 2023, the band released their debut EP “Live From New Orleans”, which was recorded at multiple venues throughout New Orleans, showcasing their energetic and soulful live sound.

Pocket Chocolate released their debut LP in October of 2025, containing many of the first songs that the band wrote together. With the help and advice of Jake Eckert (New Orleans Suspects, Dirty Dozen Brass Band) and his extensive recording expertise, the album was recorded at multiple different studios in the city including Downman Sounds, WixMix Productions, and Eckert’s own Rhythm Shack Studios. The band looks on now to their next album, with production beginning in January of 2026.
